I have just read in farm ‘n’ equine your nice piece about soil erosion.
In my earlier life I was a soil scientist and still keep up with developments. The EU has recently published the Soil Atlas of Europe - useful if you are buying land abroad. It does however mention something in Europe that is taken very seriously and of concern called soil sealing. It seems in the developed world we have a penchant for sealing over land for building development, roads, car parking etc and a poor record in unsealing land after use. The result is that high percentages of land area are being taken out of the biosphere. This means there is less plant growth and carbon uptake and a hydrological effect in flooding.
Worth thinking about.

I have received this great magazine from the beginning, but have now moved and want to make sure my copy will be sent to my new address.
Many thanks from an avid reader.

When Tracey placed an ad in the October issue, looking for news of a horse she hadn't seen for 10 years, she had little hope of finding out anything, but within hours of farm 'n' equine landing on doormats across the region, phones were ringing madly and answerphones full of messages about where he was and how he was.
Tracey says, "farm 'n' equine is unbelievable - everyone seems to read it and after years of trying to find out where Prince was, I now know he's got a great home and I'm absolutely delighted. Thanks for a great read - it's the magazine I most look forward to each month"

“WAKE UP IN THE NORTH EAST!”.........
I find Farm n Equine a really good source of information about what’s going on in the region. Too many national magazines are so "South centric", it’s nice to get new ideas about places to go schooling etc...
I also love Ruth's diary - it just shows that winning is about hard work and long hours training. I went to Badminton this year and was very proud of her, I felt that somehow I knew her a bit from reading her diary.
I only look forward to more advertisers / features that will eventually cover the North East as people realise you have readers there!
Good luck with farm n equine, grow and prosper as they say.... Nathalie (Newcastle)
