CFHS qualify for national championships

Cumberland Farmers' Hunt South branch of the Pony Club put forward several teams and individual competitors at the Area Tetrathlon at Bishop Auckland and were well rewarded for their efforts.
The Intermediate Girls team won their competition and qualify for the National Pony Club Tetrathlon Championships in Gloucestershire on 15th to 17th August. The team was Sally Butterworth from Bolton (who was also 1st individual competitor), Emma Sayer from Hackthorpe (4th), Charlotte Smith from Knock (5th) and Poppy Hilton from Curthwaite (7th).
The Junior Girls Team of Nina Smith from Knock (6th), Laura Holliday from Clifton (3rd) and Hollie Airey (2nd) also won their competition. These three girls together with Ewan Shand from Westward, recently represented the North of England in the Pony Club Regional Tetrathlon, competing against Pony Club members from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Success for CFHS was also found at the Pony Club Area 2 show jumping competition at Todburn, Northumberland, with both the Open team (Chrissie Cameron, Katie Armstrong, Jennifer Pearson and Dawn Winter) and the Intermediate team (Emma Wilson, Mark Davidson, Joey Sayer and Emma Sayer) taking first place. Both teams now qualify for the National Championships held at Draycott House in Derbyshire on 18th August.
There were also individual competition qualifications for the Championships for Emma Wilson, Jennifer Pearson and Dawn Winter who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in their classes.
